Goodread synopsis

All Magnus Bane wanted was a vacation—a lavish trip across Europe with Alec Lightwood, the Shadowhunter who against all odds is finally his boyfriend. But as soon as the pair settles in Paris, an old friend arrives with news about a demon-worshipping cult called the Crimson Hand that is bent on causing chaos around the world. A cult that was apparently founded by Magnus himself. Years ago. As a joke.

Now Magnus and Alec must race across Europe to track down the Crimson Hand and its elusive new leader before the cult can cause any more damage. As if it wasn’t bad enough that their romantic getaway has been sidetracked, demons are now dogging their every step, and it is becoming harder to tell friend from foe. As their quest for answers becomes increasingly dire, Magnus and Alec will have to trust each other more than ever—even if it means revealing the secrets they’ve both been keeping.

My thoughts

Ok, so here I am doing something I said I will never do, review a shadowhunter book! I don’t want you to think I don’t like these books au contraire I love these books so much I swore never to review them but that was back in the day when the mortal instruments was supposed to be a trilogy, that’s a long time ago and I loved this books so much I figure why not put two sentences together and call it a review.

This book is what we all wanted you guys, at least is what I needed and wanted since forever! This is a love letter de Paris avec amour.  I couldn’t put this book down and I hated having to adult while reading this.  This is the beginning of one of the best love stories out there, MALEC!  I love seeing the beginning how they are trying to get to know each other and be there for one another.  Of course they encounter some problems and there’s something to do with the red scrolls of magic hence the title but I don’t want to give too much away so make sure to read it if you haven’t.

Without saying too much we do get to see some characters from other series and I loved that so much, I always love when old characters make appearances.  I loved that we see more of Magnus past and guys this book is just amazing.

Overall, I loved this books and if you haven’t read any of the previous books you can read this book after the city of fallen angels or like me you can read it in whatever order you like, your choice but they’re be spoilers for later books

five-star-rating yellow
