Book Synopsis
Sometimes our enemies are also our only allies…
After an explosion destroys his ship, the world believes Prince Merik, WindWitch, is dead. Scarred yet alive, Merik is determined to prove his sister’s treachery. Upon reaching the royal capital, crowded with refugees, he haunts the streets, fighting for the weak-which leads to whispers of a disfigured demigod, the Fury, who brings justice to the oppressed.
When the Bloodwitch Aeduan discovers a bounty on Iseult, he makes sure to be the first to find her- yet in a surprise twist, Iseult offers him a deal. She will return money stolen from him, if he locates Safi. Now they must work together to cross Witchlands, while constantly wondering, who will betray whom first?
After a surprise attack and shipwreck, Safi and the Empress of Marstok barely escape with their lives. Alone in a land of pirates, every moment balances on a knife’s edge- especially when the pirates’ next move could unleash war upon the Witchlands.
My thoughts
Ok, so finally I get around to writing my thoughts about this book. It was good but not perfect, the story stalled a bit but we are following the same characters from book 1 TruthWitch and I like the growth and the friends trying to find each other. You need to read the first book to know what’s going on on this one. My favorite parts where the parts with Aeduan and Iseult, oh my I really want those two together but I guess we shall see. We also follow Merik and Safi but I found their story to be a bit boring for me, even thought there’s development and new foundations put in place this book dragged.
With that being said, I can’t wait to see more of Aeduan and Iseult, because for me those were the best chapters and I need to see what will happen next I will pick up the next book in the series and I just hope it’s not as boring as this one. The reason for the 4 * stars rating is Aeduan.
Now, have you guys read this book? Did you enjoy it? Let me know below.
