Book synopsis:

Jude was seven when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.

To win a place at the Court, she must defy him–and face the consequences.

As Jude becomes more deeply embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, she discovers her own capacity for trickery and bloodshed. But as betrayal threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.

My thoughts

Where to begin with this, what more can I say that haven’t been said about this amazing story.  This was my first book by Holly Black and I absolutely loved it from beginning  to end.

In the story we follow Jude the main character of the story and we get her POV and I loved her, she wasn’t always perfect but she’s brave, sneaky and I just totally loved her.  Then we have our Prince Cardan what can I say I love  this tortured soul, he was a bully and abusive BUT I loved him.  Then we have some great side characters that I really liked except for that bitch Taryn what a bitch I liked her at the beginning and then I don’t know what happened  well, I know what happened just trying to keep this spoiler free but gosh by the end of the book she was the character I hated the most I actually wanted to punch her in the face I don’t really remember hating a character so much the way I hate Taryn.

Ok, sister rant is over, Overall this was an amazing, incredible book and I’m glad I got it and now I can’t wait for The Wicked King to come out so I can get back to this amazing story.
