Book synopsis:

After deciding to spend the summer in Alaska studying humpback whales Kitty Hawk leave her home in the western Canadian fishing village of Tofino and finds herself caught up in an unforgettable adventure involving stolen gold, devious criminals, ghostly shipwrecks, and bone chilling curses.  As Kitty is caught up in an epic chase across the landscapes of the Klondike Gold Rush this riveting tale brings to glorious life the landscape and history of Alaska and Canada’s Yukon.

My thoughts

I was very excited to dive into this story when the author contact me to see if I was interested in reading it and of course I had to say yes, a young girl from Alaska going on an adventure can’t be passed on and I have to say there were things I really liked and other things I really disliked.

The good. This story is definitely about an adventure mixed with mystery and a little bit of romance.  I love reading about the history facts and also all the places where the story took place and lets not forget the side characters they all played a part in Kitty’s adventure.

The bad.  I found Kitty to be annoying at times and seem very immature at times. The pace was a bit slow at times.

Overall, if you are looking for a story full of adventure this is the book for you.

three stars

Thank you to Iain Reading for the copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion
