Goodreads synopsis:
It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress.
Something blue.
I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old.”
Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.
The name embossed on the blue stationery: Reed Eastwood, obviously the most romantic man who ever lived. I also discovered he’s the most gorgeous. If only my true-love fantasies had stopped there. Because I’ve since found out something else about Mr. Starry-Eyed.
He’s arrogant, cynical, and demanding. I should know. Thanks to a twist of fate, he’s my new boss. But that’s not going to stop me from discovering the story behind his last love letter. A love letter that did not result in a happily ever after.
But that story is nothing compared to the one unfolding between us. It’s getting hotter, sweeter, and more surprising than anything I could have imagined.
Something new.
But I have no idea how this one is going to end.
My thoughts
I absolutely loved this book! I picked this up as a recommendation from Amazon after reading the Evidence of the Affair by Taylor Jenkins Reid and I’m so glad I decided to give it a try and by the way as of today this book is free for Kindle Unlimited.
I can’t believe how much I loved these characters and their banter. Charlotte was funny and at times very naive and Reed well, besides being perfect (my opinion of course) was like Charlotte said very condescending at times. The banter between these two was perfect it kind of reminded my of The Hating Game (but not so like that book).
I’m not going to say there weren’t things I didn’t like about in the story because even as minor as they were this is not a story without flaws. One of the things I didn’t like was that Charlotte a few times in the book was the one to initiate the chase and for me it’s like no let him chase you! I mean don’t get me wrong I’m all about going after what you want but it just didn’t work for me here. And Reed well like I mentioned before he’s perfect and I understand why he didn’t want to open up to Charlotte. You see, Reed was not only hurt from a previous relationship but there is something he was trying to hide from Charlotte and I do get why he would feel that way, I mean that is something big to put on someone else so I got him good.
This book seriously pulled on all my emotions, I smiled, cried and laughed and I can’t believe I got sucked in to the story, if you know me I’m not the romance type of reader I love my fantasy but after Amazon recommend it and I saw the hot guy on the cover I was like what do I got to loose and I’ll tell you I’m so happy I did I immediately ordered an actual paperback copy because the need for me to have this book in my collection is very high.
So, do yourself a favor and pick this up and I hope you love it as much as I did!
