Book Synopsis

My thoughts
This is the first book I read by Marie Brennan and I have to say I loved it from start to finish. In the story we follow an unnamed character, she wakes up to find herself bound to a tribe by some kind of magic and with no memory of who she is, and in order to gain her freedom she will need to complete a task for them. She finds herself in an island filled with magic, nothing is as it seems, while trying to accomplish this task she’s also trying to find out who she is, and where she came from. On this island she faces many dangers and obstacles but also finds an allied and a possible foe.
The story is short but well executed and well paced. The story is full of action and suspense. I was emerged into the story from the very beginning trying to figure out what will come next. Loved the world building and the magical aspect of it.
Overall, a really fantastic novella and I really can’t wait to continue on with this series. I will be picking up The Memoirs of Lady Trent I hear it’s a really good series.
