My Thoughts
This is a FANTASTIC debut novel from Nicholas Eames that is full of 80’s Rock vibes and I truly LOVED! This band of old mercenaries known as Saga will get together one last time.
The story begins with Clay Copper getting a surprise visit from Gabriel seeking to get the band back together to help him rescue his daughter Rose, who’s trapped in the city of Castia. Once Clay decides to help Gabriel they set out to get the rest of the band together. Since I’m one not to give away the story I say pick this one and check it out for yourself it won’t disappoint at all. I loved the humor and all the characters including secondary characters we also get some magical creatures in the story. The band gets into some serious and at times funny situations that just made me want to keep on reading. I read this book all 492 pages in two days (yes, I couldn’t put it down).
Since I won’t be going into too many details about the story, I will give you a bit of information on the main characters.
Clay Cooper – known as “Slowhands”- his weapon is the Blackheart shield…LOL I know but this shield is not your ordinary shield. Clay was definitely my favorite character. He’s settle down with wife Ginny and daughter Tally.
Gabriel – “Golden Gabriel” – weapon Druin Sword Vellichor. I kind of felt sorry for Gabe at times, he had made some bad choices in life and was down on life and this was his chance to redeem himself. I still love him though.
Arcandius Moog – a Wizard, carried around a hat full of magical stuff…LOL. Lost his husband to a disease and has been looking for a cure.
Matrick – “Skulldrummer” – uses royal daggers, a now King and married to Lilith the Queen who is trying to kill Matrick.
Ganelon – weapon – axe Syrinx. This was a very interesting character, who spent many years as a captive, for some murders he did commit.
Kings of the Wyld is just an amazing story, the writing, the world building the characters, the plot EVERYTHING was well executed Nicholas Eames really did an amazing job with this debut novel. I really do recommend it and can we please talk about the cover.
Quite an amazing story with amazing characters, now WHEN IS THE NEXT BOOK COMING OUT?!!!
