September Wrap Up

Well, here we are folks another month behind us and I have to say September was a great reading month for me even without power due to hurricane Irma I was able to get my flashlight out and take advantage of a few days off to get some reading done LOL.

If you checked out my  September TBR  post you know there were at least 8 books I wanted to read last month and as usual I didn’t read all the books I mentioned on that least but I ended up reading a whole lot more than I planned.

Books in my September TBR

Books read in September:

Conspiracy of Ravens by Lila Bowen – ♥♥♥♥ – We follow Rhett/Nettie in her new mission and we know she can shift, love the old western feel of the story.

Heroine Complex by Sarah Kuhn – ♥♥♥ – This was not what I expected, even thought I enjoyed part of this book it was kind of predictable.

Halls of Law by V.M. Escalada – ♥♥♥♥ – This story follow Kerida Nast, who always wanted to be a soldier but discovered she had a Talent (magic) and was sent to the Halls of Law, taking her away from her family and from the outside world.  I really enjoyed this read even though some parts were a bit slow.

Kitty Hawk and The Curse of the Yukon Gold by Iain Reading – ♥♥♥ – This was a great adventure story that follows Kitty Hawk to her new adventure in Alaska.  My only con with this story was Kitty’s behavior at times was too childish for me.

Age of Assassins by RJ Barker – ♥♥♥♥♥ – Well, what can I say I LOVED this novel, the first book in a new fantasy series and I adore it! I highly recommend this book to everyone including to those that are new to the fantasy genre.

Autonomous by Annalee Newitz – ♥♥♥♥ – Robots and pirates yay!  love the writing even though it was a bit slow at times.  We follow Jack a scientist and pharmaceutical pirate, she is trying to expose a big pharmaceutical corporation and there some characters hot on her trail.  The relationship between this two characters was questionable not sure what the deal was but overall it was a good read.

The Selection Trilogy by Kiera Cass – ♥♥♥♥♥ – I won’t be saying much about these books since I will have a full trilogy review coming soon but I will say this, I love this series I know there are five books in this series but I have to say this was a trilogy that then got some more books so I’m treating it as a trilogy and book four & five I’m treating it as a duology with events taking place after The Selection.  Full review coming soon but I love this!

Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Mass – ♥♥♥♥♥ – I’m really enjoying this series, full review to come later on.  I can’t believe it took me this long to start this series.  My favorite character so far is Chaol, I mean I like the main character Celaena Sardothien, and the Crown Prince Dorian but so far the one I love the best is Chaol.

The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Mass – ♥♥♥♥♥ – A novella bind up where we get five stories about our main protagonist Celaena Sardothien.  I have to say I like some more than others but overall, I think it was great to get some of the back stories.  A review of the novellas to follow soon.

And that was all I was able to read in the month of September, there are some books from my September TBR that I might still pick up in October but I’m not one to really stick to a TBR list I like to pick up my books depending on my mood.

Now, have you guys read any of these books?
